Source-first public records

Public records, connected to their sources.

OrbisRepo is the organisation behind a growing family of repositories that collect official political, legal and statistical records. Each record links back to the institution that published it.

Early stage. OrbisRepo is a young, independently run project. Four platforms are online with uneven coverage; GovernanceRepo is planned and has no data yet.

OrbisRepo

The organisation at the centre. It sets the principles the platforms share. Choose a platform to see what it is and where it stands.

Hover, focus or use the arrow keys to move between platforms.

Online Planned (dashed)Lines show organisational relation, not a claim that data is already linked.

How we work

Four commitments that shape every platform in the ecosystem.

  1. Official sources stay authoritative

Every record points to the institution that published it. We index and connect records; we do not replace the official version.

  2. Neutral by design

We do not rank, score or editorialise about parties, courts or statistics. We show what the sources say.

  3. Honest about derivation

A link between records that is derived rather than official is labelled as derived. Machine translations are labelled, and the original stays available.

  4. Built to be checked

Methodology, coverage and limits are documented, including what is not yet covered.

Five platforms, one ecosystem

Each platform keeps its own data model and its own website. Connections between them are made only where they can be justified.

  • Parliamentary and political records from official sources.

  • Legislation, legal instruments and court decisions.

  • Official statistical datasets and indicators.

  • Records from the other repositories, side by side.

  • Planned. Nothing published yet.

Questions, corrections, ideas

OrbisRepo is small, and useful feedback is concrete: a record that differs from its source, an official dataset we do not cover, or a collaboration worth discussing.
